The
spring and summer months have brought in a lot of new faces, thanks
to everyone who comes through our doors. We have a new volume of
Sailor Jerry Collins flash on display. The book is chock full of
crisp, clean, traditional tattoo designs created by the master himself.
I also picked up a few original drawings by Sailor Jerry as well.
Mike and I have been really busy, Mike is here every Friday and
Sunday but comes in sporadically when the shop gets too full. He's
been doing some cool stuff and we are working hard to get his portfolio
online.
Jesse
will leave for tour July 14th and will be back August 4th.
We
will be closing at 4:30 pm on Monday and Wednesday from now until
August 4th as I am back at school working on my Masters Degree and
with Jesse gone the shop will be unattended on those afternoons.
Graceland Tattoo will be back on track after August 4th...Thanks
for your patience.

Well,
it's been a while since my last entry. As you can only imagine,
a lot has happened since last April. We have celebrated Graceland
Tattoo's one year anniversary. Jesse and I have had a lot of good
times and met a lot of great people who have walked through our
door. Many of our clients have become friends, and Graceland has
not only become a place to get sharp, clean work...but also a place
to stop in and visit. It's a great feeling!
Pete Patrick didn't fit in with us or the big picture at Graceland
Tattoo. He was quickly asked to leave the operation. Jesse has been
working hard and has honed in on the craft of Body Piercing. We
showed up to the Tattoo Expo 2003 at the Chance Theater in Po' Town.
The event raised a few bucks for Breast Cancer research and gave
aide to it's survivors.
In
other news, Jesse has taken on his own apprentice to "lighten
the load" so to speak. We are stoked to have Alex Merrit learning
the ropes and making us laugh. Last but not least, there is a new
tattooist setting up shop at Graceland. Local artist Mike Brown
is coming up from a NYC tattoo parlor to ink the Hudson Valley.
Mike has a great eye and a steady hand. He is finishing up his Bachelors
degree in Art at SUNY New Paltz, as his art skills demonstrate.
Check back soon to see his online portfolio which is currently under
construction. We now have T shirts available for purchase, so stop
in pick one up and wear it proudly. Thanks to everyone who has supported
us during our first year of operation. We look forward to serving
the community for years to come.

The
self titled album by The Used has found its way into constant rotation
at Graceland Tattoo. We were stoked when Bert McCracken stopped
in to check us out and spend some time talking about his latest
musical efforts and his need for ink. That night we caught them
at the chance where they put on a killer show. The Chance will also
be hosting
Tattoo Expo 2003 on
May 31st and we will be there to represent.

MTV
will be doing a special on the social history of BODY PIERCING.
Graceland Tattoo was fortunate enough to be contacted by the production
staff. We were asked to go down to NYC for on camera interviews.
Pete and Jesse both went down for a day of "Hurry Up and Wait".
They were interviewed and the special plans to air sometime in July.
Be sure to check it out. Hopefully we won't end up on the cutting
room floor.

Graceland
has a new member of the family! "My Bitter End" frontman,
Jesse Madre has embarked on his piercing apprenticeship under Pete
Patrick. Jesse adds a great new flavor into the mix. Our thoughts
are with the all the soldiers and their families who protect us
and this great country.

Well
we completed our first week, and it went off without a hitch. We
were busy slinging ink as soon as we open the doors. Each day has
been better than the next. I'd like to thank "Pete Rock"
for coming to Graceland Tattoo...he's a tremendously knowledgeable
asset.

I
am pleased to say we are on schedule. Everything is going according
to plan. This Friday we will
beTaking

Check back to see photos of the renovation process.

Happy
New Year to everyone. As the old saying goes, "Out with the
old, in with the new". That's exactly what 2003 has in store
for the entire operation of Graceland Tattoo! I have found a new
location to call home, working day and night to build awesome facilities
filled with topnotch eye candy and the ultimate in sterility for
everyone who stops in. I'm so excited about this new endeavor. We
plan to open our doors no later than February 14, 2003...I've got
my fingers crossed, and with a little luck and a lot of hard work,
we may be ready to rock sooner.
See
ya soon,
Adam
